It all started when…

Life decided i needed a challenge. (as if I didn’t have enough already). yoga gave me the space to prepare for embracing my impending journey of growth, a true metamorphosis.

We Celebrate Who We Are!!

We Celebrate Who We Are!!

In the intersection of stress, anxiety, burnout and uncertainty of my path in life, divine intervention made room for yoga in my life. I had never practiced yoga before but I fondly remember my dad talking about it over the years. And somehow it made its way into my life.

Almost three years ago, I attended a Les Mills sports conference in Miami. As an instructor, I’m certified in two formats, cycling and core strengthening. One of the workshops I’d signed up for had a dual focus, cycling and yoga. I know not to judge a book by its cover, as most people in the past would have never known I taught cycling unless they came to a class but when I laid eyes on the workshop’s instructor, I indeed took a pause. She was not your “stereotypical” cookie cutter yogi. She is my 1st “Her Yoga” feature who won my heart to immediately began my own yoga practice once I returned home! 2 1/2 years later, I am a 200hr RYT & Thai Massage Level 1 Practitioner & 2nd Degree Reiki Practitioner!!

Over the years, my life has been met with extreme turbulence. Yoga met me at every disappointment, heartbreak, and betrayal. It taught me how to address trauma and how to soothe and maintain calmness when challenges came to impact me.

During my journey with the 200hr yoga teacher training, yoga continued to plant seeds of resilience, strength and tranquility in my life. Then, I was ready to plant a seed of my own back into the yoga community: Joy Santosha Yoga and Wellness, LLC. As this seed grows roots and presses through the soil, I want to share my journey here on the blog as well. Parallel projects in one garden. As Joy of Santosha Yoga and Wellness, LLC. & my blog matures, I will be behind the scenes manifesting an extremely new and quite frankly frightening endeavor of entrepreneurship. So stay tuned!

Yoga taught me exploration. Through this garden, I intend to continue to discover who I truly am, how to love myself just as I am, and how to conquer everything that comes my way. These seeds in my garden are meant to nourish – myself and others. I pray that you draw inspiration, comfort and motivation to plant seeds into a garden of your own, and that you never feel you are going it alone in life.
